So. The other day I was killing some time at school and found myself in the library chatting to some (fellow) geeks. Some lovely geeks.

We weren't on the computers, but we were in the computer corner, perched on the backs of some computer chairs. We decided that it's comforting, being enclosed by a ring of computers. Like we live of the aura of the humble computer... crappy school computers, even.

Conversation went geek way too... Appearantly I'm the only girl they know who knows what bit torrent is and actually uses it. Legally, of course. Ahem.

I then admitted my secret shame... about a week ago I finally signed up for My Space. Dear God, say it isn't so! What can I say? I wanted to see the videos on someones profile. Funny how even though I only signed up to view someones profile, I still feel sad that I only have 2 friends. Sure, no one really knows about it. My profile has only had about 10 hits. But does nobody luff me!?!

So. At the moment my life is going a bit like this:

  • 19 days until the end of school.

  • 2 more weeks after that and exams will be over.

  • Not making it to school everyday, but what can ya do?

  • Eating way too much jelly.

  • Reading Terry Pratchett, Bill Bryson, Galileo and Newton. Isaac Newton. And it isn't for school.

  • Watching a tad too much Stargate.

  • I finally watched Star Wars! Well, A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back. I have Return of the Jedi right here. I get what all the fuss is about, and why people are always saying, "help me [insert name here], you're my only hope!"

Sick of bullet pointing, so I guess there is nothing else going on. Just Geek'n.

*edit* Before you read this, I just realise that it doesn't make much sense if you don't know that Amanda Tapping plays a character called Sam Carter on Stargate: SG-1. Hell, it probably still doesn't make much sense. Please continue.

I got injured. It was all Amanda Tapping's fault.

See, I work at a bookstore on saturdays. This morning, as I was heading back out into the shop (but still out of view of customers, thank God...) I spotted a large pile of books that had been left for someone to process and put onto the computer system on monday.

Specifically, I noticed this book halfway down the pile. If I'm getting specific I should mention that I only caught a glimpse of Samantha Carter, with "ate" over her head, out of the corner of my eye from about 8 feet away.

I went to have a closer look, only, I was walking in the other direction. I ended up tripping over my own foot as I tried to twist and sprawling spreadeagled across the carpet toward the pile.

The conversation when I went back out the the shop:

Supervisor: What was that noise?
Me: Nothing...
S: Did something get knocked over?
Me: ... not exactly... (Sam fans know what expression was on my face when I quote that, right?)
S: ok...

Workmate: OMG, what happened to your arm?
Me: uh, nothing.
S: It wasn't like that this morning...
Me: Carpet burn. It's carpet burn.
S&W: ...
Me: ...

S: You fell over, didn't you?
Me (defeated): yes. *And you will never find out why*

See, I avoid talking about anything with "star" in the title when I'm at work.

Anyway, sorry for rambling. I spent my lunch break kneeling next to the pile (because I only planned to look at it for a second) and I will buy the book on Monday, when it's on the computer.

So that is why it's Amanda's fault that my knees hurt.

Yes! I got Jack! I wasn't sure, because each question reminded me of a different one.

Stargate SG-1: How Obsessed Are You?

You are totally obsessed. You may want to ease back a bit for the sake of your friends, but what would be the fun in that. Keep quoting and have fun. Being so obsessed with and good at all things Stargate I bet you know who the picture is of and what episode it's from.

Which Stargate: Atlantis Character Are You?

You are DR. ELIZABETH WEIR. Attractive, brilliant, but not one to seek the spotlight, Dr. Weir has worked behind the scenes in the U.S. government for several years. Though she's not the one who signs treaties, she has brokered a dozen of the most sensitive international accords in modern history. She has two Ph.D.s, teaches political science at Georgetown University, has served in embassies all over the world and speaks five languages. Though she began her career as a political activist lobbying against government spending on the military, she later decided the best way to stop weapons proliferation was to end the need for them. Placed in charge of Stargate Command by President Henry Hayes, she has now been asked to command the Stargate Atlantis team.

Oh wow, I even avoided some of the Weir ones, because I knew I would get her. I was thinking I would get Rodney. These made me happy!

Marian just asked mum to plait her hair. Mum carefully gathered up two chunks of her hair and the cat's tail.

Would have been cool if it had worked.
I have spent the last 2 days sulking at home with a hoodie on and the hood up.

I want my hair back.

*cries*
