Don't you guys miss getting school reports? I guess I'm egocentric enough to look foward to the bit of paper all about me, me, meee! Even if I'm dreading what it will actually say and I know my parents will never see it anyway. This year though... there was not one comment with words to the effect of "able but lazy". This means that the one thing that my reports always had in common with my brothers' and sister's reports no longer applies. As usual, there was a comment about my oraganisation and time management, but this time it was positive! Some of the highlights, in terms of omg they must be thinking of the wrong person:

Eileen has a mature and determined approach to her work.

Eileen has worked very hard this year. She has taken to do this subject with some ease and practicality.

Eileen is a conscientious student who always tried hard.

Eleen has had a good half year. A commited and focussed student who has made good progress.

She can do this.

Eileen is a very positive member of this class. She takes a keen interest in the wider school activities.

I used to only get comments like that when they had confused me with Marian (before she got stupid).

My mum actually got to see this one. She gave me $1.30 to buy a donut.

A conversation as the family were serving up dinner tonight...

*Eileen in trying to tip tomato sauce out of the tomato sauce tin*

Marian: you should put a hole in the bottom.
Mum and Eileen: *blank stares*
Marian: or not.
Eileen: *makes another hole, on the other side of the top* Gooosh. She's an idiot. She was adopted.
Mum: Yeah... I try to find an identical twin to adopt for all my children.

Everyone: *silence*

Next week there is a mufti day. The theme for 7th formers is drag. Someone in my form class asked if I was going to dress as a guy... I replied with a noncommittal mumble. Someone else pointed out that I already dress like a boy. wtf? Maybe last year with my jeans and Star Trek tshirts...

Some random things that have happened over the last few days, out of context:

~My mother implied that I should be on heroin
~I made some yucky wholemeal scones that tasted like strawberries
~I spent 24 hours wearing nothing but polyprops and a blanket
~I watched the first season of Gormsby
~I missed Atlantis again and had to download

Mmmm... yummy warm truantry-goodness.
